The successful contracting division of JC Balls and Sons contributes significantly to the overall business.

Whilst predominantly undertaking earthworks projects we also carry out drainage, concreting and small civil engineering projects. We also undertake any size of contract ranging from a few hundred pounds to several million.

The first major contract carried out was as a Subcontractor to Tarmac, reconstructing the M1 between junctions 29 and 30. Since this time we have undertaken numerous road reconstruction contracts for a variety of major contractors always ensuring that they are properly resourced to meet the tight schedules required on this type of work.

Excavations and earthworks are also carried out on a large number of general construction projects. Our impressive fleet of plant and lorries, along with our experience and expertise ensure that any contract large or small is completed on programme and to budget. This is borne by our large high profile client base and the variety of contracts undertaken.

All our plant operators and operatives are CPCS or CSCS qualified with our lorry drivers holding EPIC and CPC accreditation.
